Hana Restaurant is situated on the first level of Forum The Shopping Mall. The restaurant offers pocket-friendly set lunches, omakase dinners, shabu-shabu buffets and the normal ala carte menu! The restaurant has an open-concept bar which faces the dining area. Well-decorated with Sakura cherry blossoms, paper lanterns, carps and drums of sake definitely brings out the Japanese-feel!

Definitely my favourite of the night! Think Tacos but with lobster filling. It contains lobster mayo sushi encased within a crispy taco exterior! I really loved the burst of juice from the roe! I would highly recommend this as it's a great starter to my meal at Hana! Had me craving for more!

The three flavours of flying which I had were Flying Truffle Somen ($20), Flying Salted Egg Yolk Udon ($18), and Flying Cha Soba with Spam Soba Sushi ($16). The flying noodles are served in a double-decker dim sum basket, where the noodles and sauce are placed on the upper deck of the dim sum basket!

I personally liked the Truffle somen the most, it really impressed me! The truffle somen was served with a bowl of truffle-infused dipping sauce, which wasn't too overwhelming, just the perfect mix of truffle and saltiness. The portion of the cold somen was decent, paired together with a riot of fresh cucumbers, dried shrimps, seaweed, scallions and fish roe was pretty heavy to hold up with chopsticks.

Due to Hana Japanese Restaurant’s extensive menu offerings, you might be spoilt for choice so I personally recommend their grid box (4x3) which cost $38! Like what I mentioned earlier, Hana restaurant serves Omakase. This means that the chef would pick an assortment of 12 small bites which will be served in each grid box! In other words, you will have to let the chef surprise you!

If you're looking for a place out of the usuals, I would highly recommend Hana, but nevertheless, I'm pretty sure all restaurants have their hits and misses. In terms of consistency, I guess Hana needs a little fine-tuning.

All in all, I enjoyed my meal at Hana :)
