Banana Tree is originally from South Korea but it's really awesome that Singapore has an outlet now! Banana Tree has three stores in Seoul and was brought over to Singapore by a Korean. Apart from the desserts and coffee they offer, the aesthetic decor is gorgeous as well. The interior is so pretty and photogenic, with white clean walls, solid wooden furnitures and a warm inviting atmosphere. One of their signatures is the "Flower Paap", a flower pot pudding. You can also find the usual Korean Bing-su as well, which is also placed in a flower pot. Do note that there is no main course on the menu!
Service at Banana Tree is partially self-service, where you make your order and payment at the counter but your orders will be served to your table.
The flower pot puddings are handcrafted with the finest ingredients everyday. The Flower Paap comes in three flavours - Banana, Espresso and Strawberry. I  tried the Espresso Pudding and it was really good. You can even takeaway, it's just an additional of $1! The pudding seems to be a mixture of fresh cream, crushed oreos (my favourite!) as the soil and sweets. The spoon, which is shaped like a shovel, is really really cute and it was a fantastic touch.
Prices are fairly average, with their desserts going for around $6.50 to $12.50. There is no GST or service charge as well, thus the price is kept reasonable and affordable . Banana Tree is indeed a great place for Korean desserts and a superb addition to the cafes along Keong Saik. There are so many photo-worthy corners and spaces at Banana Tree so it's a shame to visit without taking any photos! The menu is simple with concise descriptions, designed to resemble a sketchpad.
