Tai Seng? The first thought that came to my mind was "what is there to eat in that industrial area?!" but nope, Cafes in Singapore are opening up at more ulu places as they are fueled by cheaper rental and the large working crowd. 23 Jumpin is situated just about 2 minutes walk from the train station. Ulu, but I guess it's not THAT ulu afterall? 23 Jumpin sits in-between a few other food establishments that line along the first floor of The Commerze Building at Irving Place. The setting of the cafe is really simple, with some decent wooden tables and chairs with a few poster-frames hung on the walls. The cafe offers the usual brunch fare and coffee but with a few notable dishes that stand out. Prices are fairly average and they do no have GST and service charge.

The Honey Paprika Wings, a definitely must-try! The half-cut wings are drizzled with honey and sprinkled with paprika powder and parsley flakes. Every piece is fried to perfection! 10 pieces was not enough for me.. If I wasn't so full, I could've ordered another tray :( One of my favourite place for paprika wings beside Lola's.

The Truffle Infused Creamy Mushroom pasta is also one of the top-sellers in 23 Jumpin. When the bowl was served to me, the aroma of it was already alluring. I could barely wait to eat it. But as usual, I would wait for the other dishes to be served to take photos :P Heh! So anyway, the black flakes atop of the mountain of mushrooms are chopped portobello mushroom, infused in truffle oil to give you more truffle goodness with every bite in this bowl of pasta. The portion was relatively decent for one person.

For the truffle fries, it was really good as well. Every piece was crispy and had a strong taste of truffle. It wasn't too salty as well. The portion is really huge, it's good to share.

23 Jumpin is definitely a great addition to the ever-growing horde of cafes sprouting up in Singapore. Despite being situated in quite a remote location, the Cafe was full-house and had a long queue outside.
